Sierra Leone’s National Public Health Agency (NPHA) released its latest Mpox update today, confirming a cumulative total of 3,350 cases, including 96 new infections.

Sadly, the report also indicates a new death, bringing the total fatalities from the disease to 16.

As of 3:00 PM on Thursday, May 29, 2025, there are 1,555 active cases across the country. The total number of recoveries has reached 1,779, with 56 new recoveries reported.

Geographically, Western Urban continues to bear the brunt of the outbreak with 2,054 cases, followed by Western Rural with 686. Other affected districts include Port Loko (107), Kenema (71), Kono (45), Bo (48), Koinadugu (35), Bonthe (28), Kambia (25), Tonkolili (25), Moyamba (14), Kailahun (9), Karen (5), Falaba (4), and Pujehun (10).

Gender disaggregation shows 1,748 confirmed cases among males and 1,602 among females.
